Preparation

Cooking

- Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the fresh basil leaves; season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Finishing
- Using an immersion blender, carefully blend the soup until smooth, or transfer it in batches to a regular blender and process until creamy.
- Serve hot, optionally garnished with extra fresh basil or a swirl of cream.
Notes
For a creamier soup, you can add a splash of heavy cream or coconut milk at the end. Adjust the amount of basil to your preference. This soup pairs wonderfully with a grilled cheese sandwich or a crusty bread.
