The 5-Minute Chicken Piccata

This chicken piccata recipe is incredibly quick and easy, perfect for a weeknight meal. Tender chicken cutlets are pan-fried and served with a bright, tangy lemon-caper sauce.

  • 2 pieces chicken cutlets
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp capers drained

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Pat the chicken cutlets dry and season them with salt and pepper.
  2. Dredge each chicken cutlet in flour, shaking off any excess.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add chicken to the hot skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  6. Add lemon juice and capers to the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
  7. Bring to a simmer and cook for 1 minute, until the sauce slightly thickens.
  8. Return chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top.
  9. Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine to the sauce with the lemon juice and capers. Serve with pasta, rice, or a simple green salad.
