Prepare Chicken
- In a bowl, toss chicken pieces with beaten egg, then coat with cornstarch.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Cook Chicken
- Fry chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through, then remove and set aside.
- Drain excess oil, leaving about 1 tablespoon in the skillet.
Make Sauce
- In the same skillet, combine orange juice, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes.
- Bring to a simmer, then stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
Combine and Serve
- Add the cooked chicken to the thickened sauce and toss to coat.
- Serve immediately with rice and steamed vegetables, if desired.
Notes
For extra crispiness, you can double-fry the chicken. Fry once, remove, let cool slightly, then fry again for 1-2 minutes until extra crispy.
