Preparation
- Dice the onion, bell peppers, and mince the garlic.
- Open and drain the cans of beans and diced tomatoes.
Cooking the Chili
- Brown the ground turkey in a large pot, then drain excess fat.
- Add the diced onion, bell peppers, and minced garlic to the pot and sauté until softened.
- Stir in the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Cook for one minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, kidney beans, and black beans. Add the chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat, cover, and let the chili simmer for at least 30 minutes, or longer for more developed flavor.
Finishing and Serving
- Taste and adjust seasonings as needed, adding salt and pepper to your liking.
- Serve the chili hot, garnished with your favorite toppings such as shredded cheese, sour cream, or fresh cilantro.
