  • 1 lb Ground turkey
  • 1 medium Onion diced
  • 2 medium Bell peppers diced
  • 3 Garlic cloves minced
  • 28 oz Canned crushed tomatoes
  • 14.5 oz Canned diced tomatoes
  • 15 oz Canned kidney beans rinsed and drained
  • 15 oz Canned black beans rinsed and drained
  • 2 cups Chicken broth
Spices
  • 2 tbsp Chili powder
  • 1 tbsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • 0.5 tsp Cayenne pepper optional, to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Dice the onion, bell peppers, and mince the garlic.
  2. Open and drain the cans of beans and diced tomatoes.
Cooking the Chili
  1. Brown the ground turkey in a large pot, then drain excess fat.
  2. Add the diced onion, bell peppers, and minced garlic to the pot and sauté until softened.
  3. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Cook for one minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, kidney beans, and black beans. Add the chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
  5. Reduce heat, cover, and let the chili simmer for at least 30 minutes, or longer for more developed flavor.
Finishing and Serving
  1. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed, adding salt and pepper to your liking.
  2. Serve the chili hot, garnished with your favorite toppings such as shredded cheese, sour cream, or fresh cilantro.
