Preparation
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for Panko and Parmesan mixture.
Cooking Chicken
- Coat each pounded chicken breast in flour, then egg, and finally the breadcrumb mixture, pressing to adhere.
- Pan-fry the breaded chicken in a lightly oiled skillet for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Transfer the chicken to the prepared baking sheet and top each with marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella.
Baking & Serving
- Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the chicken is cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh basil and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra crispiness, you can lightly toast the Panko breadcrumbs before breading. Serve with your favorite pasta or a side salad.
