Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1.5 lbs Beef sirloin cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 Onion finely grated
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 0.5 tsp Coriander
  • 0.25 tsp Cayenne pepper optional
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper

Equipment

  • Large bowl
  • Grill
  • Skewers (wooden or metal)

Method

Preparation
  1. Combine beef cubes, grated onion, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, paprika, cumin, coriander, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper in a large bowl.
  2. Mix thoroughly to ensure all beef pieces are well coated.
  3. Cover the bowl and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for richer flavor.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (375-400°F / 190-200°C). If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  2. Thread the marinated beef cubes onto skewers, ensuring not to overcrowd them.
  3. Grill the kebabs for 2-3 minutes per side, turning occasionally, until they are nicely browned and cooked to your desired doneness.
  4. Remove from grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of sumac or a sprinkle of fresh parsley when serving. These kebabs are delicious served with rice, pita bread, or a fresh salad. If you don't have a grill, you can cook these in a hot cast-iron skillet or under the broiler.
