  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 3 large ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
Mixing
  1. In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, mash the ripe bananas and then mix in the granulated sugar, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined; be careful not to overmix the batter.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra touch, you can add chocolate chips or chopped nuts to the batter.
