Ingredients

Brownie Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Equipment

  • 8x8 inch baking pan
  • large bowl
  • whisk
  • separate bowl
  • wire rack

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour an 8x8 inch baking pan. This ensures the brownies won't stick.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar, then whisk until well combined.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined and being careful not to overmix.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs, not wet batter.
  9. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares and serving. This helps them set and become fudgier.

Notes

For extra fudgy brownies, slightly underbake them. You can also add a pinch of espresso powder to enhance the chocolate flavor.
