Ingredients

Meatball Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 lean)
  • 0.5 cup bread crumbs
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for frying

Equipment

  • large bowl
  • large skillet
  • meat thermometer (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  2. Divide the mixture into five equal portions and roll each portion into a smooth, round meatball.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Carefully place the meatballs in the hot skillet and brown them on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Reduce heat to low, cover the skillet, and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
Serving
  1. Serve hot with your favorite sauce or as part of a meal.

Notes

Do not overmix the meatball mixture, as this can make the meatballs tough. For extra flavor, you can add finely chopped fresh parsley or a pinch of red pepper flakes to the mixture.
