  • 1 head green cabbage roughly chopped
  • 4 slices bacon diced
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook diced bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy, then remove bacon and drain excess fat, leaving about 2 tablespoons in the skillet.
  2. Add chopped onion to the skillet and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes, then stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
Cooking
  1. Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet, toss it with the bacon fat, and cook until it starts to wilt, about 10-15 minutes.
  2. Stir in apple cider vinegar, salt, and black pepper, then cook for another 5 minutes until the cabbage is tender.
Serving
  1. Return the crispy bacon to the skillet, toss everything together, and serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic. Adjust cooking time based on desired cabbage tenderness.
