Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Mixing Wet Ingredients
- In a separate large bowl, mash the ripe bananas thoroughly with a fork.
- Stir in the granulated sugar, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Combining and Baking
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined; avoid overmixing.
- Fold in any optional chocolate chips or nuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
