Ingredients

General Ingredients
  • 200 g Lean protein (e.g., chicken breast, fish, lean steak) per serving
  • 2 cups Assorted vegetables (e.g., bell peppers, zucchini, onions, corn) per serving
  • 2 tbsp Healthy fats (e.g., avocado, olive oil)
  • 1 Whole grain buns or wraps optional
  • Low-sugar BBQ sauce as needed
  • Spices and herbs to taste

Equipment

  • Grill
  • Mixing bowls
  • Tongs
  • Grill basket (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Marinate your chosen lean protein in a mixture of healthy fats, spices, and herbs for at least 30 minutes, or preferably overnight for enhanced flavor.
  2. Chop assorted vegetables into bite-sized pieces and toss with a small amount of olive oil, salt, and pepper.
Grilling
  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, ensuring the grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking.
  2. Grill the marinated protein until fully cooked through and golden brown, turning occasionally.
  3. Add the chopped vegetables to the grill, either directly or in a grill basket, and cook until tender-crisp and slightly charred.
  4. In the last few minutes of grilling, brush the protein and vegetables with a low-sugar BBQ sauce if desired.
Serving
  1. Serve the grilled protein and vegetables immediately, either on their own or in a whole-grain bun or wrap.
  2. Garnish with fresh herbs or a squeeze of lime juice for extra flavor.

Notes

For variety, experiment with different marinades such as lemon-herb, balsamic, or a spicy dry rub. You can also vary the vegetables based on seasonal availability and personal preference.
