Pizza Dough
  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 cup Warm water (105-115°F)

Equipment

  • Large bowl
  • Plastic wrap

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Stir in the olive oil and warm water until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Proofing
  1. Lightly grease a large bowl with olive oil, place the dough in it, and turn to coat.
  2. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in a warm spot, like an oven with just the light on, for 60 minutes, or until the dough has doubled in size.
Baking
  1. Punch down the risen dough to release air, then divide and shape as desired for your pizza.

Notes

For best results, ensure your water temperature is between 105-115°F (40-46°C) to activate the yeast properly. If your kitchen is cool, the oven with just the light on creates a perfect warm environment for proofing.
