Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 7 pieces chicken
  • 1 cup honey
  • 7 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.5 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Equipment

  • paper towels
  • medium bowl
  • whisk
  • large skillet or pan

Method

Preparation
  1. Pat the chicken pieces dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar to create the honey-garlic sauce.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and sear for 3-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
  2. Reduce heat to medium-low, pour the honey-garlic sauce over the chicken, and bring to a simmer. Cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened, turning the chicken occasionally to ensure even coating.
  3. Remove the chicken from the pan and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. You can drizzle any remaining sauce over the chicken.

Notes

For best results, marinate the chicken in the honey-garlic sauce for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator, before cooking. Serve with rice and steamed vegetables.
