Method

Starting Seeds
  1. Fill small pots or seed trays with seed starting mix and sow thyme, bay laurel, and chives seeds according to package directions, gently covering them with a thin layer of mix.
  2. Water the seeds gently to moisten the soil and place them in a warm location with plenty of sunlight or under grow lights.
Transplanting and Care
  1. Once seedlings have developed a few sets of true leaves, carefully transplant them into larger pots or directly into your garden, ensuring proper spacing.
  2. Provide consistent watering, ensuring the soil remains moist but not waterlogged, and protect young plants from harsh weather conditions.
  3. Feed your herbs with a balanced liquid fertilizer every few weeks, and prune them regularly to encourage bushier growth.
Harvesting
  1. Begin harvesting thyme and chives when they are well-established, snipping off outer leaves or stems as needed.
  2. For bay laurel, harvest individual leaves as required, being mindful not to over-harvest young plants.

Notes

Ensure good drainage for all herbs to prevent root rot. Rotate your harvest to encourage continuous growth. Consider companion planting to deter pests naturally.
