Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 cups Broccoli florets
  • 1 cup Carrots, sliced
  • 1 pc Bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp Water
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • Green onions, sliced for garnish
  • Rice or noodles for serving

Equipment

  • Large skillet or wok
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

Preparation
  1. Prepare the stir-fry sauce by whisking soy sauce, brown sugar, grated ginger, and minced garlic together in a bowl. Create a cornstarch slurry by mixing cornstarch and water in a separate small bowl.
  2. Chop all desired vegetables including broccoli florets, sliced carrots, and a sliced bell pepper.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, then brown the ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks; drain excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped broccoli, carrots, and bell pepper to the skillet with the beef and stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until they are tender-crisp.
  3. Pour the prepared soy sauce mixture into the skillet, bring to a simmer, then stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
  4. Remove the stir-fry from heat, stir in sesame oil, and garnish with sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

Serve this ground beef stir fry over a bed of steamed rice or noodles. You can also customize the vegetables based on season or preference, and adjust the spice level by adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
