Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 chicken pieces
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 3 cups vegetable oil for frying

Equipment

  • Large bowls
  • Whisk
  • Heavy-bottomed skillet
  • Tongs
  • Wire rack
  • Paper towels

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  2. In another bowl, beat eggs and milk together.
Breading and Frying
  1. Dip each chicken piece into the egg mixture, then dredge it thoroughly in the flour mixture, ensuring it's fully coated.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large, heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Carefully place chicken pieces into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan, and fry for 6-8 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Remove chicken from oil and place on a wire rack lined with paper towels to drain excess fat; serve hot.

Notes

For extra crispiness, consider a double-dip method: egg wash, flour, egg wash, then flour again.
