  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Mixing
  1. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined and taking care not to overmix.
  4. Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Baking
  1. Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving enough space between each cookie.
  2. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers still appear slightly soft.
  3. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, use good quality chocolate chips. Do not overbake; cookies should be slightly soft in the center when removed from the oven.
