Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Mixing
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined and taking care not to overmix.
- Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Baking
- Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving enough space between each cookie.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers still appear slightly soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, use good quality chocolate chips. Do not overbake; cookies should be slightly soft in the center when removed from the oven.
