Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F) and prepare your apples by peeling, coring, and slicing them.
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice, ensuring the apples are evenly coated.
Assemble & Bake
- Line a 9-inch pie dish with one pre-made pie crust, then pour the apple mixture into the crust and dot the top with small pieces of butter.
- Place the second pie crust over the filling, crimp the edges to seal, and cut several small vents in the top crust; brush the top with the beaten egg wash.
- Bake for approximately 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra treat.
