Preparation
- Cut the chicken breast into stick-like pieces, approximately 1 inch wide and 3-4 inches long.
- In a bowl, whisk together the orange juice, soy sauce, honey, grated ginger, minced garlic, and cornstarch to create the marinade.
Cooking
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken sticks to the hot skillet and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour the marinade over the chicken and bring to a simmer, stirring constantly.
- Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken, about 3-5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Serving
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.
- Serve the orange chicken sticks hot with your favorite side dishes like rice or steamed vegetables.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes, or even overnight. Adjust the amount of honey for desired sweetness. You can substitute chicken thighs for chicken breast if preferred. This recipe is also great for meal prep and can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
