Preparation
- In a medium bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp cornstarch, and 1 tsp sesame oil; mix well and let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together 2 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp oyster sauce, 1 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp cornstarch, 1/2 cup water or beef broth, 1 tsp minced ginger, and 2 minced garlic cloves until smooth, setting aside.
- Blanch or steam the broccoli florets for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp; drain and set aside.
Cooking
- Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat.
- Add the marinated beef to the hot wok in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through, then remove the beef from the wok and set aside.
- Add the remaining 1 tbsp vegetable oil to the wok, then add the blanched broccoli and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes.
- Return the cooked beef to the wok with the broccoli.
- Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and broccoli, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens and coats everything, which should take 1-2 minutes.
Notes
