This delicious Beef and Broccoli recipe is quick to make and perfect for a weeknight meal. Tender beef and crisp broccoli are tossed in a savory sauce.

Ingredients
  

Beef
  • 1 lb beef sirloin sliced thinly
Vegetables
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
Sauce
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger grated

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the beef sirloin thinly against the grain and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, cornstarch, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger for the sauce.
Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced beef and cook until browned, then remove from the skillet.
  3. Add the broccoli florets to the same skillet and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  4. Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet with the broccoli and bring to a simmer, stirring until thickened.
  5. Return the cooked beef to the skillet and toss everything together to coat with the sauce.
Serving
  1. Serve hot with rice if desired.

Notes

For extra spice, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
